The papers in this kit were so fun...and I think they turned out pretty good. I've been practicing layers on pages and I think I got it down! Let me know what you think...some of these pages have 10+ layers on them, I hope my efforts were worth it and my attempts are of some use to you.

It's been a LONG time....

Hi All...

If there is anybody out there still lurking...I'm sorry for the prolonged absence. I've been dealing with fertility issues and haven't had it in me to post or create. I will be better in the new year as I've promised myself that it is IMPORTANT to take care of myself and do what makes me happy...that includes blogging and creating fun digi scrapping stuff for all of you! Second, I've recommitted myself to the FIRM which is the best online support system I've found for getting into shape. Everybody is supportive, non-judgmental, and full of advice. The website is awesome and the forums are great...if you are in the process of trying to loose weight or just be healthier in the new year I recommend visiting!

I will be creating this weekend and hope to post a freebie within the next few days. Thanks for your support and patience.

So, we close on our house Tuesday (Aug. 12)...we are very excited and not at all prepared. Imagine that! I haven't packed one box, it all seems so unreal...I guess I'll be spending the next few days going through our junk and boxing things up. I plan on taking a break on Saturday 'cause it's my 31st (YIKES) birthday and I want to be able to go out to dinner and spend some time with family. So, I may not post for a few days. I do have a new paper pack I'm finishing up and will post that once I get a minute to finish it and load it on 4 Shared.

I finished up with summer school, did interviews for paraprofessional positions (3 positions...19 interviews...phew) in my classroom, had to find a new loan for the house (don't get me started), and began a second round of fertility meds (this last round was unsuccessful...I'm still hopeful).

Fertility Update...

I just got back from my Reproductive Endocrinologist and was informed that I have a nice sized follicle (where the egg is released) on the Left side (actually 2, but probably only the largest will release)! Perfect, that is the side with a tube so my chances for getting pregnant this cycle are...get this...NORMAL! WOW! I have to give myself a trigger shot tonight to encourage the follicle to release it's egg...which I'm very nervous about...I don't like needles. Then it's business as usual and then wait to see what happens.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that I was pretty excited about what I found out at the Dr.

Sweet Boy

WHAT's HAPPENING???
I've recovered from my surgery and my right tube was completely removed. I started on Clomid (this encourages more eggs to mature) and have been MISERABLE on them. LOADS of Hot Flashes, Nausea, Headaches, Heartburn, and Fuzziness. YUCK! One more day of pills and we'll see if it works. Finger crossed!!!!!

Joe and I also found a house and are praying things work out so that we can close on August 8...the day before my 31st birthday...NICE BIG PRESENT!!! I don't have a picture to post right now but it's a cute, old house that is perfect for us to start out in. It will need some work, but that's okay 'cause we want to make it OUR home...

Busy Week Ahead........

This week is going to be very busy....Joe and I will be looking for a house and hoping to find something we can't live without! Then on Thursday I head to the hospital for surgery to repair/remove my right fallopian tube. I'm a little nervous...but looking for a house has kept my mind a little removed from what is happening. The surgery shouldn't last more then an hour and I should be able to come home that night...Fingers crossed that all goes well and this is an answer to my prayers of starting a family. While I am on the mend I hope to find a position that is comfortable AND allows me to do some digi designing...it's been a while since I've had a freebie.

Anyway...Hope you all have a great week and I'll see you after my surgery...hopefully with news of success and a new home!

Moving Forward

This is a difficult post for me to make...

My husband and I are going through fertility issues right now. I'm scheduled for surgery in the beginning of June and then we will move forward...depending on results...to fertility meds and other treatments. I'm beginning to accept the fact that there are certain things that I will need to do in order to become a mother and in order to make that happen I need to MOVE FORWARD.

I've created this freebie called, "Moving Forward" in an effort to bring awareness to others regarding infertility and the fact that most insurance companies don't cover fertility testing/treatment. If you download this kit I simply request that you visit Resolve click on the link under "Family Building Act 2007" that says: Contact your Representative...then simply complete the form (address and name) that sends a letter to your congressman/women asking them to consider making fertility testing/treatment mandatory.

Berry Mint Chocolate Elements I

Sooo Sorry for the delay, but I spent more time with baby Kayden then I thought I would. He's such a pretty baby :)

So here is the first set of elements I've created...be kind...let me know what you think. I kept saving the files as JPG instead of PNG and had to redo most everything. YUCK!!!! I've learned my lesson and know everything is saved as PNG for elements!

Baby Kayden

I've been MIA for 2 reasons...refinishing a table that has been in the family since my 83 year old grandpa was a child...and my baby brother and his wife just had their first child...baby Kayden.

Very healthy and our family is very happy...here's a picture:

No Excuses

I have been visiting with family for the past few weeks and haven't really scrapped or designed lately. No real excuse...just visiting my folks and putting the scrapping world on hold. It has been nice having my parents in town and just relaxing, but I think I'm ready to get back into the groove again. I've got an idea for an alpha that I'll start working on this week...and I have some elements created for the Berry Mint Chocolate collection. I'll finalize those items this week and hopefully have download links for you by Saturday.

On a personal note...I've decided to start FIRMing again. I have some weight I want to loose and was successful with using the FIRM in the past and am finally biting the bullet and starting a workout routine. I need to to something to get my energy up and help me feel healthier. Wish me luck....

Is it really the middle of March?

I can hardly believe that it is already the middle of March. I started digital scrapping in January of this year and it doesn't feel like that long ago. Time sure does fly. One more week until Spring Break (thank goodness) and then 2 months and school is out!

Anyway, I thought I'd post a teaser...my next freebie should be ready tomorrow. I've got to organize files and upload to 4Shared and LOST is on...can't do it tonight...I'm ADDICTED!

I love Scrap Artists...they always have such cool challenges to get your creative juices flowing. So, this challenge was to create a layout based on this image (taken from the Sunsilk Website).I haven't really been successful with scrapping using a black background...but I do like how this LO turned out.

I've had a terrible migraine all day long and I'm finally starting to feel a little "normal"...so I thought I'd post about this kit I worked on over the weekend.

DigiTreats has been creating and sharing this MASSIVE ABC Kit on her site and I felt the need to return her generosity. So, here is a second attempt at designing a paper kit...but I'm not sure who will see it since I don't know many people who digi scrap (thanks Jeanne, I know you'll check my site). I've posted a comment on DigiTreats letting her know that I've decided to contribute...hopefully some of those gals will see it too. Anyway, here's the preview:

I'd love to share this crinkled paper pack that I've worked on (my first one, special thanks to Atomic Cupcake) and I think I've figured out how to share the files...this is my first attempt at a paper kit and sharing...so any comments would be appreciated...and send your friends. I've fallen in love with the forums and challenges at ScrapArtists. This is my latest LO for that challenge. We had to do a LO in one color...you could use various shades...but it had to be the same color. YIKES! It was a challenge.

Here's a LO I did for my DH...maybe I'll print it, frame it and send it to work with him so he can see me all day long (LOL). I used the February 2008 Collaboration Kit, "Open Your Heart" from Songbird Avenue. Sorry, it's no longer available :-(

I also used a overlay from ScrapArtists N.Rowe-Janitz Textures Vol. 6....they are awesome and can change the look of any background paper.

The Kiss - Comparison

I wanted to show the difference between photos once I used Virtual Photographer. I really like this program and you can download it for free. In this example I used the romance setting. It's simple, pick a setting and preview the photo...if you like it click on "PROCESS" and there it is! Pretty cool considering I'm an amature photographer and could use a little help in the editing department.

The first photo is the edited version (it is also in a LO below), the second photo is the original version.

Okay, so here it is...my first post. I don't even know who will come across this or why I started a blog...I guess it just looked like a lot of fun.

So, I have fallen in love with the Weeds and Wildflower Designs digital scrapping stuff. It is kinda grungy, feminine, and simply AWESOME! On their blog they posted a challenge and here is my submission. I used Gina Marie Huff's "Believing in You" kit and the blog freebie for 2/18/2008 by Heidi Williams "In Bloom Frames". Check it out!
